The ARIZONA DESERET CHOIR is a community service music organization of and includes over 100 men and women from the Phoenix Area. The choir has performed with combined vocal and orchestral groups in all sizes of venues throughout the State of Arizona. Performances have included a wide music variety, from challenging masterworks to pieces that are down-right fun. The music we perform is meant to uplift and ennoble all, and echoes the statement:
"... If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things."

About our director:
Carric Smolnik holds a Doctoral Degree in Choral Conducting from Arizona State University. He has served as the Conductor of the ASU Men’s Chorus, the Assistant Conductor of ASU Chamber Singers and Choral Union, and as a collaborative pianist for vocal and instrumental students at ASU. He also holds a Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting and a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance, both from Brigham Young University. While at BYU, Carric Smolnik served as the Assistant Conductor to several auditioned choirs, the conductor of University Chorale, and the Conductor and Artistic Director of Impressions, his own chamber choir. Throughout his studies, Carric Smolnik has taught conducting and sight-singing classes. He loves nothing more than to rehearse and perform with choral ensembles.
